For those of you who are Star Trek The Next Generation fans, you may have noticed how Commander Riker sits…or maybe you haven’t. I gotta admit, I haven’t watched a lot of the TV episodes, though have seen the movies and never really paid attention. When I saw this clip posted on someone’s Facebook wall, I definitely chuckled. How had I not picked that up before?

Enjoy!

So, have you noticed this? Ever try it?

What’s the most awesomest way someone has sat down?

A few weeks ago, author Mary Lindsey (of Shattered Souls and Ashes on the Waves fame) posted a link to a YouTube video, True Facts About the Tarsier.

I clicked the link and am SO glad I did. The narrator had me guffawing, fo riz.

I’d like to share that vid and another of my favorites: True Facts About the Angler Fish–It’s HIL-ar-i-OUS!

…what a pretty, pretty lady… ;)

What are some of your favorite YouTube videos?

GraveTells reviewed SHIFTING PRIDE yesterday–gave it 4 stars!!! Click HERE to read the full review.

Shifting Pride is a compelling read with heartwarming family dynamics. The bond that forms between Xavian and Nickie is unbreakable and adorable. If you’re looking for an interesting YA read about shape shifting felines, I recommend this one!

I had so much fun collaborating with author Theresa McClinton to develop the trailers for NEW PRIDE and SHIFTING PRIDE that I had to tinker with iMovie and draft trailers for my short stories.

I’d like to share them with y’all today.

THE OFFICIAL STORY TRAILER FOR CITY OF LIGHTS AND STONE (A short story in the DAY OF DEMONS Anthology by Anachron Press):

THE OFFICIAL STORY TRAILER FOR BEGGING DEATH (A short story in the CARNAGE: AFTER THE END Anthology Volume One by Sirens Call Publications):

I have a trailer for my spin off short story, TSAVO PRIDE, that will be revealed at a later date, closer to the release of the story. So stay tuned!

Best-selling author Rebecca Hamilton (The Forever Girl series) also posted my trailers–so cool! Check it out and say hi! ;)

Question: Do you guys like trailers? Hate them? Have you used them as part of your social media/marketing?

Last Thursday, I was in a particularly grumbletastic mood. Poor sleep, max stress, and ludicrous situations all added up to….yuckiness.

Anyway, my co-worker and BFF, Tiffany, cheered me up by showing me the following video. (Warning: there is, um, language here…but if you’re okay with that, then prepare to laugh your patootie off!)

THANK YOU, Tiffany!

Enjoy, dear friends!

Thanks to random.org, the winner of last week’s blogaversary contest is:

LYDIA!!!

Congrats!

Okay, so you know about book trailers, right? A well done book trailer can create as much excitement as a movie trailer. So. Cool. But how does one determine what should go into a book trailer? Well, I think it’s important to first study the greats.

Take this clip for example:

Something is very wrong with the city of CloverPark.

So, what do you think worked in this trailer?

Personally, I think they did a fine job of melding the scary suspense of Cloverfield with the spoofy humor of South Park. In essence, the trailer blends the two “voices” and creates brilliance. ;)

EDIT: Oh dear, I fear I’ve inadvertenly tricked everyone. This is a trailer for a South Park episode…Cloverpark is one of my favorites & I love how they molded the two together. ;)

At the same time, I think it’s a nice illustration/example of how to put together a book trailer.
