Moving Day!!!!!

For those of you who’ve been following along, I’ve been renovating my fixer upper mansion for the past month or so.

Well, today is moving day, so I’m taking a break from Mental Health Monday, but I will leave you with this:

In 1967, two psychiatrists (Holmes and Rahe) reviewed the charts of about 5,000 patients to determine if (and what type of) stress might cause illness. They developed a list–called the “Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale”–which still exists in various forms today. Many websites display the list, ask you to simply check off your stressors in the past 12 months, then clickety-click, your “risk” of illness is calculated for you.

    Moving already? that’s exciting!!

    Thanks for the educational post!

  2. I once went to my doctor for a stress-related health issue. She gave me the list, and told me to check any that applied to me within the past year. I checked several of the boxes. I had lost a husband by death, remarried, moved, and changed jobs all in one year. She told me I’d earned a nervous breakdown for all that. Ha! I felt better just knowing that there were reasons for my discomfort. It was actually the beginning a new season of my life. It did require some adjustment, but it was all good. Thanks for the list. It brought back a memory. Blessings to you…

I think moving should be higher up the list too 🙂 But even goog stress is stress.

Hopefully your stresses are lowering now that you are actually moving and most of the revo is completed. Have fun arranging everything.
